NYC Ferry announces an express route from Manhattan to the Rockaways for the Summer Season
Go on a trip to Rockaway beach from Manhattan in one hour sponsored by the New York City Ferry. Beachgoers will be picked up at Pier 11 and Wall Street in Manhattan and taken straight to the Rockaways for $8 per ticket each way!This service is available at select times. Departures from Manhattan are scheduled at 9:30 am, 11:30 am and 1:30 pm, while riders can depart from Rockaway at 2:30 pm, 4:30 pm and 6:30 pm. You can bring your bike for free when you reserve your ticket! This Rockaway Rocket express route begins Saturday and will be offered on weekends and holidays only through Sept. 11. The best way to get to Pier 11 is to take the MTA train 2 or 3 to the Wall Street Station which is the closest station to Pier 11. Driving is not suggested as you will find the streets congested and very hard to find a parking spot.
If you purchased a round trip, ensure you arrived on time. In case you missed your ride, you are in luck! A few blocks away you can take the A train at the Beach 105 Street Station.
